Born in Oporto in 1999, Sara Marita studied piano and composition at the Calouste Gulbenkian Conservatory of Music in Braga. She is currently finishing her bachelor in Composition at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa with Luís Tinoco, where she also studied with Carlos Caires, João Madureira, Jaime Reis, among others. She attended masterclasses, workshops and conferences with Annette Vande Gorne, Kaija Saariaho, Åke Parmerud, Thomas Adès, Dimitris Andrikopoulos, John Chowning, Mario Mary, Robert Normandeau, João Pedro Oliveira, among others. Her works have been performed both nationally and internationally in several festivals, including the Monaco Electroacoustique biennial in 2019, BoCA 2019 (Biennial of Contemporary Arts), DME Festival, Festival Música Viva, Radiografia #1 – a perspective on new composers from Braga, Reencontros de Música Contemporânea, among others.
