Bernardo Beirão (1997) is a portuguese composer, borned in Lisbon, graduated in Composition at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (ESML). He began his musical education at the Escola Artística de Música do Conservatório Nacional at the age of 11, where he attended the piano course, concluding it in 2016, studying with Joaquim B. Fernandes. During his studies he started to appreciate choral music and became a member of the Musaico choir, conducted by Tiago Marques. In 2016, he enrolled at the ESML and during that time he had the opportunity to study and work with Luís Tinoco, Sérgio Azevedo, João Madureira, Carlos Caires, Roberto Pérez and Carlos Marecos. In his repertoire there are works for solo instrument, chamber music, orchestra and choir. His works have already been performed in concert halls such as São Luiz Theatre, Centro Cultural de Belém, Conservatório Nacional and Auditório Vianna da Motta. Currently, he is a member of the Nova Era Vocal Ensemble with whom he had the opportunity to premiere his work “Nunca Mais” and he is a member of the Contratempo barbershop quartet.
