After having graduated from Mimar Sinan State Conservatory (Turkey) with an excellent grade, Başak Ersöz received a scholarship from Dr. Nejat Eczacibasi and continued her education in foreign countries. First, she graduated from the Milano Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory with an excellent grade and afterwards she was accepted in the Geneva Music Conservatory. During this period, Ersöz also worked with Maxence Larrieu for her master’s degree. Following that, she finished Emmanuel Pahud’s virtuosity class with the first prize. At the same time, she also had a chance to work with Patrick Gallois, J. D. Castellon and J. M. Tanguy.
Başak Ersöz also played in a lot of international music festivals including: Istanbul Music Festival, Cemal Reşit Rey Youth Festival, Geneva Amadeus Festival and Norway Stangvik Festival. Around this period, she also played as a soloist in Istanbul, Bursa and Çukurova State Symphony Orchestras. She played as first flutist in the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra for 5 years and Istanbul Cemal Reşit Rey Sypmphony Orchestra for 10 years. Meanwhile, she was invited as jury of “The Third International Nice Flute Congress”. Ersöz completed her PhD with Prof. Halit Turgay at the Istanbul University State Conservatory. She was given the title of Professor in the Department of Wind and Percussion Instruments on the same Conservatory in 2022.
