Inés Badalo, Spanish-Portuguese classical guitarist and composer. She studied piano, guitar and composition at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Badajoz (CSMB). Inés continued her studies at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, where she completed the composition and guitar degree, graduating in Spain at the same time.

As an interpreter, Inés attended masterclasses by the guitarists Carles Trepat, Ricardo Gallén, Álvaro Pierri, Margarita Escarpa, Evaristo Valentí, António Jorge Gonçalves, Jesús Pineda and Dejan Ivanovic, performed solo with the Chamber Orchestra of the CSMB and played concerts both as soloist and as a member of various chamber ensembles across Spain and Portugal.

Concerning her composer side, she received mentoring from the composers Franck Yeznikian, Christopher Bochmann, Luís Tinoco and José Manuel López López. She was awarded at several nationals and internationals competitions, including the International Competition of Composition “Manuel de Falla”, Sociedade Portuguesa de Autores/Antena2 Composition Competition, Francisco Guerrero Marín Award – Young Composers of the SGAE – CNDM Foundation and Fernando Lopes- Graça International Composition Award.

Inés received commissions from the Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical (CNDM), Philharmonic Society of Badajoz, Radio and Television of Portugal (RTP) – Antena2 and her works have been chosen as mandatory pieces in national and international competitions such as the “31st Edition of the Prémio Jovens Músicos” in Portugal and “VII Seville International Guitar Competition”.

Her works were premiered by the Trío Arriaga, Ensemble Sonido Extremo, Extremadura Young Orchestra (OJEX), Gulbenkian Orchestra, Ensemble vocal Soli- Tutti, Kuraia Ensemble, among others, and performed in Spain, Portugal, United Kingdom, Brazil, Germany and France. Inés participated in several festivals, including the VI Ciclo de Música Actual (2014), XXXI Festival Ibérico de Música (2014), VIII Ciclo de Música Actual (2017), Festival Música Viva (2017) and Series 20/21 (2017).
