Osvaldo Fernandes was born in 1985 and began his studies at the age of 4 years, entering later at the Conservatory Calouste Gulbenkian (Braga) in the classes of trombone, piano and composition. He continued his studies at ESMAE, where he completed his degree in composition with the highest marks. He won the prizes “Rotary Club Porto-Foz/Veloso & Exchange” for the ESMAE best student in the school year of 2006/2007 and “Foundation António de Almeida” for the best average school marks at ESMAE.
He completed recently a master’s degree in music education at the University of Aveiro, writing his thesis about the “CPCE – Esposende Children’s Choir”.
Currently, he teaches at the Esposende School of Music and works as a composer for the CPCE and the decatet “Portuguese Brass”.
